Plan ahead for your first visit

Purchase online the day before for best options. If parking at the last-minute, pay stations recommended. If unsure what to do, call before leaving your vehicle (503-494-8283) or visit Transportation and Parking, open 8am to 5pm, weekedays.

Considering a job with OHSU?

Long term parking is very limited. However, OHSU is connected by the nation’s most advanced transportation system: Portland Aerial Tram, Portland Streetcar, Tilikum Crossing, Go By Bike, and much more. As a result, most employees choose not to drive. To reduce traffic congestion, OHSU incentivizes  a variety options to make the streets more accessible for all.

Split the cost by sharing a ride. Scoop helps find the most efficient door-to-door trip. Split AM and PM trips. Ride or drive. OHSU employees and students can learn more at o2.ohsu.edu/scoop.

Parking as a patient

For personal appointments, parking is free with validation:

South Waterfront: Pull a ticket in the garage. Validate at clinic.

Marquam Hill: Validate by phone: 503-494-8283. Please provide:

  • Your name
  • license plate
  • hours of coverage.
  • Reason for coverage (no medical information, please. Stating, "appointment," is generally sufficient.)

Validation is provided at OHSU's discretion.

Lower cost options

  • Park and rides offer free parking at over 30 locations with direct service to OHSU.
  • Carpools split the cost of parking with a coworker.

OHSU partners

  • Car2go vehicles can be rented on the street for one way trips around the city.
  • Lyft allows you to quickly hail a ride from anywhere in the Portland metro region.
  • Zipcar offers cars for roundtrip rentals from locations around Portland, including OHSU's campuses.

Hours

  • OHSU is pay to park weekdays, 8am to 5pm for non-patients.
  • Parking is free weekdays after 5pm, until 8am, and all weekend in most areas.
  • Select areas are restricted or pay-to-park after hours as signed.

Special circumstance

Accessible and ADA parking

Accessible parking is available at the special reserved rate for employee with an ADA permit or doctor's note. Request the permit here. Select, "Request or Stop a Permit."

Maternity parking

Maternity parking is available at the special reserved rate for employees who are: In their third trimester of pregnancy; have ADA parking; or, can provide a doctor's note.

To arrange maternity parking, contact Transportation and Parking. Allow 1 to 2 business days. 

For personal maternity appointments and leave, parking is free with validation (call 503-494-8283).

Held over from night shift

Employees working a night shift who are held over beyond their scheduled shift into paid parking time can have their parking covered by calling 503-494-8283. Please provide name, license plate, and reason for coverage.

Valet in Schnitzer

Valet service at Schnitzer Lot is available for purchase online.

Please park in one of the triple stacked stalls at the back of the Schnitzer Lot. See an attendant if you need assistance. No tips accepted. A separate paystation area is located in this lot. Valet parking is not permitted in the pay station area and vice versa.

Hours: 7am to 10pm, or until last keys are returned. If traveling to Marquam Hill, note Portland Aerial Tram's hours.

After hours: keys can be picked up Mon - Fri,10pm to 6:30am by calling Public Safety at 503-4794-7744.
