Getting to the OHSU Library

There are several ways to get to the OHSU Library from downtown Portland.

Bus: Take the #8 TriMet bus from downtown Portland to OHSU (http://www.trimet.org/schedules/s/t1008_0.htm). Ask the driver to alert you when the bus gets to the BICC building stop.

Streetcar and Tram: Take the Portland Streetcar (http://www.portlandstreetcar.org/node/4). Go to 11th Avenue to one of the stops, catch a streetcar (they will all be going south on 11th) and get off at the South Waterfront Center for Health and Healing (CHH) stop. Proof of valid fare is required to ride on Portland Streetcar. You can purchase tickets online or on-board the Streetcar at fareboxes. Streetcar fare is $1.00. TriMet fare ($2.50) is also valid on the streetcar. Walk across the tracks to the base of the tram. Catch the tram up to the hill. Note: This costs money, unless you have been given tram passes.

At the top of the tram, exit down the long walkway/hallway into Kohler Pavilion. Keep going straight, through the doors, down the stairs, and up the hill past the Emergency Department/Hatfield building. The next building up the hill (on the left) is the BICC/Library building. Go inside the building and, if going to classes, down the stairs to the first floor and towards the right to the long gallery. The classrooms are along the left side of the gallery. If going to the library itself, walk up to the 3rd floor once in the building.

The Library is located just past the Emergency Department and resides in the BICC Building as marked on the map.

Getting to the LRC in the CLSB (The LRC is located on the 5th floor)

Public Transportation: Portland’s streetcar stops at the corner of S.W. Moody and S.W. Meade, which is across the street and just south of the Collaborative Life Sciences Building. Patients and visitors may ride a TriMet bus downtown and transfer to the Portland streetcar. The closest streetcar stop to the downtown transit mall is at S.W. 5th and Market. The streetcar accommodates bikes and wheelchairs.
