Requesting Materials From Other Libraries
OHSU participates in several programs that give library account holders access to materials at other libraries.
OHSU affiliates
For current OHSU-affiliated faculty, residents, staff, and students.
OHSU Primate and VGTI
Current OHSU Primate and VGTI faculty and staff, please email onprclib@ohsu.edu for assistance.
Login for Non-OHSU borrowers
For Oregon and SW Washington-based independent health professionals, businesses, OHSU alumni, OHSU volunteers, and the general public.
Interlibrary Loan
OHSU affiliates (faculty, students, residents and staff) can use the Interlibrary Loan system to request materials from other libraries and receive 10 free requests per year (faculty, residents and staff) or quarter (students). After the 10 free requests, further requests come with a fee. Allow up to a week to receive an article and up to three weeks to receive a loan. We provide all article requests as PDFs while physical materials arrive either at the BICC library service desk or the LRC library service desk. PDF articles will remain 'live' in your account for approximately 30 days and typical checkout periods are 2-4 weeks, often with a 2-4 week renewal for physical materials.

Journal articles and unavailable PAHL library items can be requested through Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery service. Materials will be available for pick up at your selected location, usually within 3-5 business days (items are mailed to distance students). Loansome Doc
Unaffiliated users may use Loansome Doc for requests through our library. Loansome Doc is the National Library of Medicine's Interlibrary Loan and referral system and allows borrowers to order documents found within PubMed (http://www.pubmed.gov) from participating libraries. Once you establish an agreement with our library, any articles that you order through PubMed will be routed to our library to either fill from our collection or have filled from another library on your behalf. You can request PDF documents of items indexed in PubMed. We do not provide physical articles for loan to our unaffiliated users. It costs $14 for articles filled from our library's print collection and $25 + copyright fees for articles obtained from other libraries on your behalf. You will receive an email notifying you that your requested PDF is available as either an attachment or a link.
