Information for Students
Find Reserve items:
A Course Reserve Search allows users to search the library catalog for materials by title, course number, course name, or instructor.
Loan Periods:
Most Reserve materials have a two-hour check out time, but can be checked out of the Library overnight if checked out within 2 hours of closing. Reserve materials can be checked out over the weekend if checked out within 2 hours of closing on Fridays.
Late fees:
A late fee of $.25 cents per hour will be assessed every hour the item is overdue. Circulation privileges will be suspended when fines total $20.00. The purpose of this policy is to ensure course materials are returned promptly and available for use.
Information for Faculty/Instructors
Find what you have on Reserve:
From the OHSU Library homepage > go to Library Search > click on the Course Reserves tab. This will allow you to search by course number, course title, instructor’s name, or by book title.
Request Course Reserve Materials:
Submit the online Course Reserve form to have materials placed on reserve, allowing at least 4 weeks for ordering and processing materials OHSU Library already owns. Please allow additional processing time when purchasing is required.
Reserve materials are added from library collections or purchased by the OHSU Library. Print items will be placed on Reserve at selected Library locations, unless instructor prefers an electronically-only copy, providing it is available. If you prefer a book be made available electronically, OHSU Library will work with you to identify options.
Reserve Items will be pulled from the Reserve Shelf annually. Instructors will be sent a list of items they have on reserve before they are pulled and can indicate which items they would like to keep on reserve for the following year.
