New ergonomic chairsThe School of Medicine and the OHSU Library are grateful to the School of Medicine Alliance for their support for sprucing up six study rooms in the library. The enhancement project included the purchase of six new conference tables, five rolling white boards, six fixed white boards and 28 ergonomic chairs. These after-hours study areas are high use areas by students from across all OHSU educational programs.

"The installation of this furniture is such a benefit to the library and to the students. We want to make sure our students have what they need to be successful, and we appreciate that the Alliance could help us do that by updating these highly trafficked study spaces," said Stephanie C. Kerns, MLS, associate university librarian.

Established in 1947, the School of Medicine Alliance mission is to provide a "a tradition of friendship, community support and service to the OHSU School of Medicine." An aspect of this is to invest in special projects that directly benefit students. Among their many recent projects, the Alliance was responsible for furnishing new student on-call rooms, installing bike racks for students in the basement of the Old Library and for upgrading the study lounges in the Old Library.
