Meet Dr. Tracy Bumsted, Associate Dean, Undergraduate Medical Education

Dr. Bumsted 2016Tracy Bumsted, M.D., M.P.H., F.A.A.P., has been associate dean for undergraduate medical education in the OHSU School of Medicine since 2013. Dr. Bumsted is a board certified pediatrician at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and  a member of the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics. 

Prior to becoming Associate Dean, Dr. Bumsted served as the Pediatric Clerkship Director, Co-Course Director for Principles of Clinical Medicine 2, and held several leadership positions in the School of Medicine related to LCME accreditation as well as serving as an original member of the Curriculum Transformation Steering Committee. She earned her M.D. (2000) and MPH (1996) from the University of Utah. She completed her pediatrics residency at OHSU in 2003 and helped build the pediatric hospitalist program, serving as the group’s first division head. 

As associate dean for undergraduate medical education, she leads all aspects of the M.D. program, overseeing M.D. admissions, curriculum and student affairs, colleges and teaching services. Her office is in the south tower of the Collaborative Life Sciences Building on the South Waterfront campus of OHSU.
