Graduate Program
About
Our PhD training program was established in 1964 and remains one of the few Behavioral Neuroscience graduate degree granting programs in the country. Currently our training program emphasizes systems neuroscience, behavioral genetics, and computational neuroscience in the context of healthy behavior and brain disorders. Our students are engaged in multidisciplinary research involving human, monkey, rodent, and songbird models, as well as reductionist and computational approaches.
Our program is supported by three training grants from NIH and a multitude of individual grants to our training faculty and our students. We provide a collaborative, diverse, and supportive environment for our students. We are especially proud of our diversity; nearly 50% of our graduate faculty are women and/or underrepresented minorities. We believe this contributes to the excellent track record of publications and post PhD accomplishments in academic and non-academic fields by our trainees.
