NEW STUDENT PROFILE:
Graham Rykiel
About me:
I'm a Baltimore, MD native and I graduated from UMD, College Park with a BS in Biology. My work focused on interrogating the molecular mechanism of dissection in Vascular Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome mouse. In doing so, I became increasingly interested in bioengineering and its application to cardiovascular research and this brought me to Dr. Rugonyi's lab at OHSU. I am very excited to begin looking at the interplay of physical forces and molecular signaling in the formation of cardiac outflow tract defects. If I'm not in lab, I'm probably outdoors either skiing, mountain biking, or fishing.
