OHSU Family Medicine offers a wide range of continuing education opportunities.

This is a clinical topic-based single day conference typically held in the early fall in Portland. The morning session consists of several presentations interspersed with time for questions. Morning lectures are followed by a keynote Pennington Lecture, a clinically relevant piece pertinent to provision of medical care or practice transformation. All lectures are presented by clinicians with extensive experience in their topic. The day is rounded off by afternoon workshops with clinical application and resident poster presentations. This series of lectures offers prescribed CME credit from AAFP.
This conference is named in honor of Merle Pennington MD, a founder of the OHSU Department of Family Medicine and mentor to many physicians, who formally joined the faculty in 1977.

The Laurel Case Lecture is a keynote presentation by a nationally renowned authority on a cutting edge topic important to Family Medicine. The Laurel Case Visiting Professor spends several days as a guest of our department, interacting with clinical faculty, research team and residents of our discipline and other departments. This lecture offers prescribed CME credit from AAFP.
Laurel G. Case, MD was the founding chairman of the Department of Family Medicine at OHSU, leaving a 16 year private practice in the Medford, OR in 1971 when requested to accept the leadership of Family Medicine education in OR.
This monthly conference, held during the noon hour and broadcast simultaneously to a number of sites around the state, features invited presenters and OHSU faculty. These lectures offer prescribed CME credit from AAFP. Current and past Grand Round Presentations.
