 The lab is broadly interested in identifying and characterizing non-coding RNAs, especially microRNAs, in the host cells that promote tumor progression. Our work involves molecular biology techniques (Expression profiling, functional genomics, qPCR, cloning), cell biology (Confocal imaging, 3D cell culture, flow cytometry, bioluminescence assays) and uses in vitro, in vivo model systems and samples from human tumors. Our goal is to both understand the functional role of non-coding RNAs and seek ways to exploit these molecules for diagnostic and/or therapeutic purposes in human cancer.

We believe in an open, collaborative lab culture where team work and productive interactions with colleagues across the department, Knight Cancer Institute and OHSU are invaluable to achieve our goals.
