Dr. Nima Nabavizadeh has been selected as one of 5 recipients of the 2018 Radiation Oncology Institute award in response to the RFA, Innovative Projects in Radiation Oncology [PDF]. The successful grant application is titled, "BRIDGE-TO-TRANSPLANTATION STEREOTACTIC BODY RADIATION THERAPY IN HEPATOCELLULAR CARCINOMA PATIENTS WITH ADVANCED CIRRHOSIS". The primary aims are to assess toxicity & QOL in HCC pts with advanced cirrhosis following liver SBRT, evaluate these HCC patients who are successfully bridged to orthotopic liver transplant following liver SBRT, and to characterize the SBRT-related pathology of explant livers. The co-investigator team includes Drs. Kristian Enestvedt, Christian Lanciault, Alice Fung, Khashayar Farsad, Joseph Ahn, Yiyi Chen, and Mr. Ramtin Rahmani. Congratulations!
