Dr. Michael James Gagnon, born April 16, 1968, died November 18, 2015 unexpectedly at the age of 47.

Mike was born in Chicago, IL to Dr. James Douglas Gagnon and Mrs. Jane Mary Gagnon. He lived in many places around the U.S. but ultimately settled back in Illinois where he completed high school at Marian Central in Woodstock, IL and his undergraduate studies at Loyola University in Chicago.

He completed medical school at American University of the Caribbean where he met his beloved wife, Lori, of San Antonio, TX.Together they completed their medical training in England, Columbus, OH,and Portland, OR ultimately settling in Boerne, TX. Mike and Lori had three lovely children.

Mike built a successful practice in Radiation Oncology in San Antonio and had a passion for patient care. He enjoyed spending time with his family and three dogs, boating with his kids and fostering his love of piano. He loved regular fishing trips to the Gulf Coast and Ontario, Canada and had begun introducing his sons to bird hunting. He had a love of life, an unlimited devotion to his family and friends and an infectious smile. All who knew him will miss him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his father, Dr. James Douglas Gagnon, and survived by his wife Dr. Lori Gagnon, his three children, Ashley (13), Nicholas (11) and Jake (10), his mother, Jane of Oak Brook, IL, and his siblings, Cheryl Caligaris of Los Altos, CA, Dr. Patrick Gagnon of Duxbury, MA, Matthew Gagnon of Chicago, IL and Allison Gagnon of Davis, CA. 

A visitation will be held at the Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home, 111Rosewood Ave., Boerne, TX, 78006 from 5:00-7:00 pm on Monday, November 23, 2015. A funeral mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 8500 Cross Mountain Trail, San Antonio, TX 78255 on Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at 10:00 am followed immediately by interment at the Boerne Cemetery.
