Dr. Bornstein receives Medical Research Foundation funding

Sophia Bornstein, MD, PhD, a Holman Research Pathway Resident, has successfully competed for funding in the amount of $20,000 [pdf]  from the most recent round of grant application evaluations by the study section of the Medical Research Foundation.

The title of Dr. Bornstein's work is "Functional significance of tumor-initiating cells in recurrent head & neck squamous cell carcinoma." Drs. Joe Gray (Dream Team) and Melissa Wong 
(Research) are the scientific advisors and Dr. Thomas is the clinical research advisor for this project.

Dr. Bornstein is a prior RSNA Research Medical Student grant recipient and co-directs the radiobiology didactic core lecture series for housestaff.
