10/07/13 Portland, Ore.
Dr. Charles R. Thomas, Jr. [OHSU Provider], is an invited faculty at the Methods in Clinical Research Workshop for Minority Physicians: Reducing Cancer Disparities Through the Training of a Diverse Workforce, March 13-15, 2014 in Coral Gables, Florida.
In an effort to increase the number of minority investigators in clinical research, The Center for Drug Development and Clinical Trials at Roswell Park Cancer Institute will run a training program specifically tailored to minority physicians, with support from Eli Lilly and Company.
This workshop will include didactic presentations, focused breakout sessions, target homework, one-on-one sessions with a favorable faculty: student ratio. The ultimate goal is to increase the pipeline of highly competent clinical investigators who possess the skill set to design, execute, interpret, and publish the results of prospective cancer clinical trials.
Dr. Alex A. Adjei, sr. vice-president for clinical research and director of the center for drug development at RPCI, is the Workshop Director.
