Department chair, Dr. Charles R. Thomas, Jr., was named chair of the Radiation Oncology Study Section of the RSNA Research & Education Foundation. This appointment was made due to the untimely passing of one of the premier radiobiologist in the world, Dr. Michael Robbins. During the 3-year term, Dr. Thomas will closely interface with the RSNA R&E Grants Program Committee and other sr. leadership within the RSNA. Extending back to his tenure at the University of Texas HSC at San Antonio and currently while leading the Department of Radiation Medicine at the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute. Dr. Thomas has successfully mentored/co-mentored (mentoring video: part1, part2, part3), a number of trainees competing for RSNA R&E Foundation grant funding.
