Surgical Oncology focuses on the surgical management of tumors and especially cancerous tumors. Because tumors can develop in any number of locations in the body, surgical oncologists frequently operate alongside other surgical and medical specialists in various fields.
The Department of Surgery's team of surgical oncologists operate within the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute and are recognized as international leaders in personalized medicine, diagnostics and cancer research.
Hepato-Pancreatico-Biliary Fellowship
As a university hospital, OHSU and the Department of Surgery are dedicated to the education and training of new surgeons. Abdominal Organ Transplantation Division Head Susan Orloff, M.D., directs our Hepato-Pancreatico-Biliary Fellowship Program together with co-director C. Kristian Enestvedt, M.D. The OHSU HPB fellowship program is designed to draw from the multidisciplinary strengths of faculty members in abdominal organ transplant/hepato-pancreatico-biliary surgery, surgical oncology, and general surgery. The fellowship is aimed to complete the specialty training of well-trained general surgeons.
