Graduate Studies

OHSU offers an outstanding opportunity for graduate studies in the biomedical sciences. Over the last decade there has been a tremendous expansion of research programs at OHSU. M.D. Program

The M.D. Program at OHSU presents a four-year curriculum that balances emphasis on the scientific basis of medicine with early clinical experience.The Admissions Committee seeks students who have demonstrated academic excellence and readiness for the profession of medicine and who will contribute to the diversity necessary to enhance the medical education of all students.

M.D. Scholarships

M.D. / MPH

The M.D./MPH joint degree program is part of the Biostatistics & Epidemiology Track of the Oregon MPH program and is designed for prospective students considering a clinical career in a population-based practice or a career in research, policy, or programs that would be enhanced by a degree in public health. 

Applicants to this program must complete the OHSU M.D. Admissions Secondary Application as an M.D./MPH applicant.

M.D. Program admissions

 

M.D. / Oral / Maxillofacial Surgery

Each year, two to three students will be selected for the Oral/Maxillofacial surgery /M.D. Program and will enter into the second year of medical school. This selection will be made by the Admissions Committee based on the recommendation of the Director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery/ M.D. Program. The requirements for students in this program are available through the Office of Education and Student Affairs. Applications are processed through the School of Dentistry Admissions.

M.D. / Ph.D.

The OHSU M.D./Ph.D. Program invites applications from individuals wishing to pursue careers as physician-scientists. Applicants should have a strong academic record, solid performance on the MCAT, prior research experience, outstanding letters of reference, and evidence of a firm commitment to a career in science and medicine. The Graduate Record Examination is not required.

Applicants to this program must complete the OHSU M.D. Admissions Secondary Application as an M.D./Ph.D. applicant.

M.D. Program admissions

Physician Assistant

The OHSU PA Program is a 26-month, full-time course of study leading to a Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree. A class of 36 students is accepted each year with classes starting in June. The didactic phase of the Program is 12 months; the clinical phase encompasses the final 14 months.
