Medical Director for Performance Improvement

Jacob Luty

Jacob Luty, M.D. '13 R '17, is assistant professor of medicine (hospital medicine), OHSU School of Medicine and medical director of performance improvement for Graduate Medical Education.

He also serves as faculty lead of the Housestaff Quality and Safety Council (HQSC). This group of dedicated, improvement-oriented residents and fellows represent their respective GME training programs in the HQSC’s mission to provide hands-on quality and safety systems improvement work tied to their clinical learning environments and the priorities of OHSU quality and safety leadership. 

In his first year, he will focus mainly on building systems to connect housestaff to ongoing hospital quality and safety initiatives and performing an educational needs assessment to support core improvement science curricular standards and supplementary content to help enhance the curricula already offered by GME programs.

Amy Miller Juve, Ed.D, M.Ed received a Doctorate of Education with a focus in Educational Leadership, and a Masters of Education in College Student Services and Administration. Amy has a sincere passion for Graduate Medical Education and continuously holds leadership roles within OHSU's GME department including Duty Hours committee, AMA Grant committee, and actively participates in the development of OHSU's Program Leadership committee.
