From the archives: The All-Hill Talent Show

April 22, 2015

I’ve been diggiTalent showng through the Historical Image Collection in the Archives and came across a great series of photos in a folder titled “Talent Show.” From what I can gather, the All-Hill Talent Show was an event held annually in the late 70s and early 80s. The Talent Show included students from all of the schools and was so successful that in 1979 the 2nd Annual All-Hill Talent Show had “standing room only.” In addition, the same source (OHSU News) described a few of the acts which included a “martial arts demonstration” and someone “dancing an Irish jig.”

I was able to match one image from the folder with an image found in the 1982 OHSU Yearbook. The image at right is from the folder.

On pages 82-83 of the 1982 yearbook there is the same image and some lyrics from two of their songs, see below:

Unfortunately, the only information I can find on either the image or in the Yearbook are the notes “students” and “1980 – talent show.” And that these gentlemen were called “The Four Fossae.” Any information you may have on the names of these folks, OR if you have a recording, please contact me, Max Johnson. We would love to include more information on the All-Hill Talent Show in the Archives.

Here are a few additional images from the “1980” Talent Show.

Again, if you recognize any of the performers (or happen to be one of them) send me an email. I would love to hear more about the event, the people involved and help identify more of the images in our collection.
