Dennis Crawford, M.D., Ph.D., associate professor of orthopaedics and rehabilitation, OHSU School of Medicine, was presented the Cum Laude award from the International Cartilage Repair Society during its annual meeting May 8-11.

Dr. Crawford was recognized both for translational research and clinical care. The award lauded his work to create a "tissue-engineered alternative to microfracture surgery for primary treatment of cartilage injury in adults" and also for work in 2013 for "characterizing the continued viability of osteochondral transplant tissue in recipients by novel biochemical MRI."
