Dr. Donn Spight appointed to Society of Academic Black Surgeons leadership role

Donn Spight, M.D., associate professor of surgery, OHSU School of Medicine, was recently appointed chair of the Medical Student Committee for the Society of Black Academic Surgeons. Established in 1989, the Society motivates, mentors and inspires surgeons and medical students to pursue academic careers and make significant contributions to the advancement of the field of surgery.
A bariatric surgeon, Dr. Spight is also medical director of the VirtuOHSU Simulation and Surgical Training Center. Dr. Spight joined OHSU and the Department of Surgery in 2007 and has been actively involved in the training of surgery residents for the past decade.
