Faculty conferred with emeritus status

Emeritus is an honorary title for a retired faculty member which recognizes distinguished past service to the institution. 

It is conferred in writing by the provost upon the recommendation of the department chair and dean and may be given to a retired faculty member of any rank.

Between May 2014 and September 2015, 17 faculty members in the OHSU School of Medicine were awarded emeritus status.

“We value their many important contributions to the school’s education, research and health care missions,” said Mark Richardson, M.D., MBA, dean of the OHSU School of Medicine.
