Family Medicine Interest Group receives national acclaim for excellence
August 4, 2015
The OHSU Family Medicine Interest Group was presented with a 2015 Program of Excellence award July 31 from the American Academy of Family Physicians. The award is in recognition of exceptional work by a family medicine interest group. Each year, medical schools throughout the country submit a nine-page application, outlining the outreach, workshops, lectures and community service they do as part of their group activities. The AAFP then vote on the Top 10, and OHSU was honored to again be selected.
Attending the award ceremony in Kansas City, Missouri, and accepting it on behalf of the OHSU Family Medicine Interest Group were (left to right): Mustafa Mahmood, MS4; Charlie Procknow, MS4 and Joe Reistetter, MS3.
OHSU has 129 medical students currently in the Family Medicine Interest Group and OHSU is consistently ranked in the top 5 medical schools for Family Medicine.
