Dr. Heidi Nelson honored with ACP Mastership

Heidi D. Nelson, M.D., M.P.H., M.A.C.P., research professor and vice chair of medical informatics and clinical epidemiology and medicine, and director of scholarly projects, OHSU School of Medicine, has been awarded mastership in the American College of Physicians, the national organization of internists. Election to mastership recognizes practitioners who have made a notable contribution to medicine, including, but not limited to teaching, outstanding work in clinical medicine (research or practice), contributions to preventive medicine, improvements in the delivery of health care, and/or contributions to the medical literature. ACP will honor new Masters at Convocation during Internal Medicine Meeting 2017, ACP's annual scientific conference. The meeting is March 30-April 1 in San Diego.

Dr. Nelson completed her undergraduate and professional degrees at the University of Minnesota, residency in internal medicine at OHSU, and fellowship in clinical epidemiology at the University of California San Francisco. Dr. Nelson's research, teaching, and clinical activities focus on clinical epidemiology, screening and prevention, women's health, and health care policy and delivery.
