The Oregon Health and Science (OHSU) School of Nursing in Portland is located on the 116-acre Marquam Hill campus of the university which overlooks downtown. OHSU occupies 37 major buildings on the hill and has dozens of offices, clinics, education, and research facilities throughout the state. The School of Nursing's building was completed in 1992 and houses the school's statewide administration as well as many academic and research facilities affiliated with the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs on the campus. Marquam Hill is also home to the OHSU Hospital, Doernbecher Children's Hospital, Shriner's Hospital, and the Portland VA Medical Center offering a variety of clinical settings, employment options, and health services for members of our community.

Portland is Oregon's largest city, with a population of 609,456 and is the core of the metropolitan area (2.2 million people). Portland is proud of its cultural attractions, restaurants, nightlife, and recreational opportunities. Nearby rivers and lakes invite swimming, boating and other water sports. Mountains and ocean beaches within an hour and a half drive attract campers, hikers, cyclists, skiers, and climbers.
