American Association of Colleges of Nursing Announces Election Results

Susan Bakewell-Sachs, Dean of the OHSU School of Nursing, was re-elected to the American Association of Colleges of Nursing board.

Of this distinction, Susan Bakewell-Sachs says, "I am honored to be able to continue to serve on the Board of Directors for AACN and to support the vision that 'Nurses are leading efforts to transform health care and improve health.'"
"On behalf of AACN's member deans, faculty, and students, I am pleased to welcome these new and returning members to the Board and Nominating Committee who are committed to helping shape the future of academic nursing," said AACN Board Chair Juliann Sebastian, Ph.D., R.N., F.A.A.N. "As the national voice for baccalaureate and graduate nursing education, AACN serves as the catalyst for excellence and innovation in nursing education, research, and practice. I applaud all those elected to advance AACN's agenda at the highest level since this work requires strong leadership and a collaborative approach to improving health and health care." Those elected to the AACN Board of Directors and Nominating Committee will begin their terms of service following the business meeting at AACN's Spring Annual Meeting on Monday, March 20, 2017.
