Critical Event Team Training MOCA® Course for Anesthesiologists
The OHSU Department of Anesthesiology is offering simulation-based CME and MOCA®(part IV) opportunities for practicing anesthesiologists. This course is in keeping with the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) Maintenance of Certification guidelines. This day-long simulation-based course leverages crisis resource management principles to provide the participant with an enriched opportunity to experience common and uncommon critical events in anesthesia practice. The faculty use multiple teaching strategies to reinforce the concepts that have been identified as critical within the quality and patient safety movement.
The Doctors Company, one of the largest medical malpractice carriers, has offered premium credit to eligible members who attend this course. Attendees are responsible for submitting a CME or attendance certificate to The Doctors Company in order to receive this credit. 7:30 – 8:00 am: Registration
Morning: Critical Event Training Part I: Core Concepts, Simulation Scenarios & Group Learning
Working Lunch: Interactive Session: Multi-tasking in the OR
Afternoon: Critical Event Training Part II: Simulation Scenarios & Group Learning
Sessions include multiple scenarios and interactive discussions.
Accreditation
Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians
CME Credit
OHSU School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 8.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
MOCA® Credit
This simulation course fulfills one requirement of the American Board of Anesthesiology’s Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology Program (MOCA®). Please consult the ABA website, www.theABA.org, for a list of all MOCA® requirements
