Office of the Executive Vice Provost

The Office of the Executive Vice Provost works collaboratively with the Office for Student Affairs to ensure academic and student success by providing support programs for academic personnel and students, academic fiscal management, oversight of institutional accreditation, management of academic programs and inter-institutional agreements and the implementation and oversight of academic policies.
The Office of the Executive Vice Provost also supports the Provost in providing vision, creating strategies, prioritizing resources, and ensuring the quality of the academic mission at OHSU.
Oversees the following areas of service
Office of Academic Programs & Assessment
The Office of Academic Programs & Assessment provides analytic support and expertise to aid in policy development, evaluation, and management of academic programs, accreditation, assessment, and performance measurements.
Area Health and Education Centers
The Area Health Education Centers Program (AHEC) is a partnership between OHSU and Oregon communities. Its purpose is to improve the education, training and distribution of health care professionals in Oregon through a statewide network of centers.
Center for Ethics
Through interprofessional education, research and transformation of the delivery of care, the Center for Ethics is dedicated to raising the level of ethical standards in all aspects of health care throughout our community. At the heart of this work are the needs and rights of patients and their families directly at the center of that care
Educational Communications
Educational Communications (EdComm) provides professional video production services, distance learning tools, and conference and classroom multimedia support to OHSU schools, departments, centers and affiliated organizations. Services also include digital photography and scanning to large-format poster design and printing
The Office of Export Controls
The Office of Export Controls at OHSU was established to help faculty, researchers, and staff navigate the complex environment of export regulations and laws through a program of technical assistance, education, and the direct management of controlled exports.
Office of Finance and Administration
The Office of Finance & Administration is charged overseeing with the fiscal and personnel management of the Schools and units that report to the Provost, which totals about $170 million and almost 1,000 employees. This office also provides support for strategic program development, space planning and development, and oversight of academic appointments and inter-institutional agreements
Healthcare Educational Professional Programs
Other healthcare professional programs at OHSU encompasses a range of undergraduate and graduate programs offered through the OHSU School of Medicine and in collaboration with the Oregon Institute of Technology. Programs include Graduate Programs in Human Nutrition, Physician Assistant Program, Radiation Therapy Program, and collaborative programs through Oregon Intitute of Technology.
OHSU Library
As an intellectual steward of information, the OHSU Library advances knowledge and improvement of health in partnership with our community by providing high-quality biomedical information that leads to optimal outcomes, patient satisfaction and the elimination of health disparities.
Protocol and Events at OHSU
Protocol and Events coordinates use of OHSU event venues, meeting spaces and the Portland Aerial Tram and also plans events that further OHSU's missions.
Office of Rural Health
The mission of the Oregon Office of Rural Health (ORH) is to improve the quality, availability, and accessibility of health care for rural Oregonians through planning, policy development, advocacy, providing recruitment and retention, and providing technical assistants to communities.
Science Education Opportunities
Science Education Opportunities (SEO) serves the community and OHSU employees by developing and mobilizing OHSU's unique resources to increase science literacy throughout the region. SEO provides a single access point to relevant experiences and information in the health sciences for K-16 teachers, students and public.
OHSU's Teaching and Learning Center
OHSU's Teaching and Learning Center promotes the value and practice of excellence in teaching by providing resources and consultation designed to promote teaching methods that are consistent with research about how people learn. The TLC offers several education technology platforms that instructors and students can use to enhance teaching and learning at OHSU.
