The Joseph B. Trainer Health & Wellness Center (JBT) offers a wide range of services for students, their adult dependents (spouses/domestic partners and adult children), and postdoctoral scholars.

• Primary Care: JBT offers a full range of primary care services, including care for acute illnesses and injuries, managing chronic conditions, reproductive health, pre and post travel care, and more.  Office visits are free and NOT subject to co-pays and deductibles (some exceptions apply).  Same or next day appointments are often available. 
• Behavioral Health: Individual counseling, medication management, and couples counseling are available. 
• Integrative Medicine: We offer free or subsidized acupuncture, depending on your insurance, and one free massage per student 
• Wellness: Free wellness events are available to reduce stress and promote relaxation, including Refuel @ Noon, our ongoing drop-in series offering mindfulness, acupuncture, and/or wellness activities and education.

Who can access JBT services?

Eligible OHSU students, their adult dependents (spouses/domestic partners, adult children), and postdoctoral scholars are eligible to access JBT.  You do NOT need to be enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan to access JBT.  Those enrolled in an OHSU program hosted on an OHSU regional campus have access to health services at that regional campus.

What is the cost?

Most services done at JBT are free, and do not require any copays or deductibles regardless of your insurance.  JBT will bill insurance for primary care visits, and any charges not covered will be paid for by JBT* (some exceptions apply).  Behavioral health visits are always free and are not billed to insurance.  It is always more cost-effective to seek care here first rather than seeing providers through your insurance company. 

*Some services may incur out-of-pocket costs, such as travel vaccines, acupuncture, and any service referred out or completed outside of JBT (such as bloodwork, labs, imaging, visits to specialists, etc.).  Please see JBT's Fees and Billing page or ask for more details.
