Clinical Trials
Clinical trials are research studies in which people help doctors find ways to improve health and treat diseases. The results of these research studies, called outcomes, give healthcare providers the data necessary to make advances and improvements in the way doctors treat or prevent disease.
OHSU participates in hundreds of trials in a variety of scientific areas and diseases. To find out more about OHSU clinical trials, please see the resources below or view frequently asked questions.
What clinical trials are going on now at OHSU?
There are many clinical trials in different departments happening simultaneously at OHSU.
- OHSU study participation opportunities
- OHSU Brain Institute clinical trials
- OHSU Knight Cancer Institute clinical trials
- OHSU Center for Women's Health clinical trials (women's health research unit)

How do I participate in a clinical trial at OHSU?
Our clinical studies would not be possible without the thousands of Oregonians and others who volunteer each year.
To find out about participating in an OHSU clinical trial, contact the person listed for the specific study. If you would like to be contacted by researchers to potentially participate in research studies, you may register for a national volunteer research registry that brings together researchers and willing volunteers who wish to get involved in research studies called ResearchMatch.
OCTRI Research Volunteer Repository at OHSU
The OCTRI Research Volunteer Repository at OHSU is actively enrolling healthy adults with an interest in research participation. The purpose of this repository is to create and maintain a list of healthy adults who are interested in participating in future research studies, and are willing to provide health information and/or biological specimens for research.
If you are interested in participating or learning more, please read the Information Sheet describing the procedures, risks and benefits of participating in the Repository.
If you agree to participate you will be directed to a brief survey collecting Demographics and Health and Contact information; the survey will take about 5-10 minutes to complete.
If you have further questions, you may contact Repository staff at 503 346-0168 or HealthVolReg@ohsu.edu.
