Spiritual Services

OHSU chaplains provide spiritual support to patients, their families and OHSU staff regardless of religious affiliation. We provide spiritual guidance, prayer, emotional support, and comfort. We help ensure that the spiritual needs of you, your family, and your loved ones are addressed during your hospital visit.

When should I call a chaplain?

Facing a challenging or life-threatening medical diagnosis or treatment can lead to deep spiritual inquiry or desire for spiritual support. Chaplains can help:

  • Share and sort confused emotions and fears
  • Provide prayer support and nonjudgmental presence
  • Contact community clergy for specific needs
