Pituitary disorders are often challenging to diagnose and treat; therefore, an in-depth familiarity and expert knowledge in treating these disorders are critical in a care team. Led by internationally recognized pituitary expert, Maria Fleseriu, M.D., F.A.C.E., the OHSU Pituitary Center offers unmatched experience and skill in treating neuroendocrine conditions, including pituitary disorders. Together our pituitary patient care team diagnoses more pituitary conditions, gives more second opinions and performs more pituitary procedures than any other medical center in the region. We treat more than 500 patients a year from around the United States at our center.

The OHSU Pituitary Center brings together multiple specialists from:

  • Neuroendocrinology
  • Neurosurgery
  • Neuro-ophthalmology
  • Neuroradiology
  • Neuro-oncology
  • Neuropathology
  • Neurology

As part of a large academic health system, our specialists are not just aware of the latest research, they are personally involved in research aimed at developing new diagnostic and treatment techniques. In the last 15 years, our OHSU Pituitary Center team members were major contributors to clinical studies that resulted in two new, first-in-their-class medical treatments for Cushing’s disease and one for acromegaly, all approved by the Food and Drug Administration, and several other new treatments still in clinical development.

The patients we see at the center benefit from the most advanced and sophisticated technology available for diagnostic imaging and radiation therapy.

No other facility in the region, and few in the United States, can equal our expertise and resources at the OHSU Pituitary Center for people with pituitary disorders. Our coordinated care, renowned physicians, research, cutting-edge technology and depth of experience in pituitary disorders make us a major resource for patients and health care providers.
