About Brain Awareness Season
Brain Awareness Season, produced by the OHSU Brain Institute, shares the latest, most riveting knowledge about the brain through a season of events, including workshops, community activities and a hugely popular lecture series - all open to the public.
From child development to healthy aging, Brain Awareness Season shows how the newest developments in neuroscience can affect - and improve - our lives.
Our history
Begun in 2000 as Brain Awareness Week, the event has expanded significantly, thanks to an enormous community response. The events of the season stretch from March through May and involve thousands of Oregonians—scientists, clinicians, policy makers, advocacy group leaders, teachers, students and enthusiasts from the general public.
Brain Awareness Season builds on the powerful strength of OHSU Brain Institute’s neuroscience community, one of the largest and most celebrated groups of brain care and research experts in the country. Speakers from OHSU and from around the nation gather to share the latest information on brain science.
