The Knight Cancer Challenge:
In September 2013, Nike co-founder Phil Knight and his wife, Penny, issued a historic challenge to advance breakthrough cancer research. If OHSU raised $500 million by February 2016, the Knights would donate an additional $500 million to support the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute's vision to end cancer as we know it. OHSU announced the completion of that challenge in June, 2015 – months ahead of schedule – thanks to the support of thousands of donors in Oregon and beyond.

We are leveraging unprecedented resources to take an all-out stand against cancer. But there’s still more work to do. We’re building a dream team of scientific experts to collaborate on innovations in early detection and giving them the tools they need to accelerate discovery. We’re bending the curve by seeking faster, smarter ways to detect and treat cancer, and putting unprecedented resources into making a significant impact in a decade.
