Patient Navigator Program

Patient Education Resource Center

The OHSU Knight Cancer Institute and the American Cancer Society work together to provide patients with information, free wigs and services.

Patient Education Resource Center

Visit our Patient Education Resource Center, a joint service of the Knight Cancer Institute and the American Cancer Society, on the seventh floor of the Center for Health & Healing.

Volunteers and our patient navigator can provide information and connect you with American Cancer Society programs, including:

Patient lodging: The cancer society and local hotels work together to provide free or low-cost rooms to cancer patients traveling to Portland. Learn more.

Road to Recovery: The cancer society works with Ride Connection to provide volunteer drivers to take cancer patients to and from medical appointments. Learn more.

Look Good ... Feel Better: This program helps women in cancer treatment with beauty techniques for hair, skin and nails. The goal is to help women regain a sense of normalcy.

Reach to Recovery: This program pairs women who've just been diagnosed with breast cancer with a trained breast cancer survivor. The survivor can offer support by telephone throughout treatment.

Free hats, wigs and headscarves: The Patient Education Resource Center provides free head coverings. Volunteers can help women with wig fittings. Call Tina Johnson at 503-346-4279 for an appointment.
