Casey Eye Institute uses all the techniques available to diagnose and treat retinal and vitreal diseases. These conditions include:
- Age-related macular degeneration (AMD)
- Retinal vein occlusion
- Diabetic retinopathy
- Retinopathy of prematurity
- Pediatric retinal disease
- AIDS-related retinal choroidal infections
- Eye cancer.
What is an electroretinogram (ERG)?
An electroretinogram (ERG) is a recording of the electrical activity of the cells in the retina, the tissue at the back of the eye. When bioelectrical changes occur in the retina, they are sent to the eye's surface. Using an electrode on the surface of the eye, an electroretinogram capture and record these changes.
