Residency

The dermatology residency training program at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is a three-year program that offers broad training in cutaneous medicine and surgery. Directed by Dr. Nicole Fett, the program provides extensive clinical and research instruction in all aspects of dermatology. The program has strong ties to Portland's active dermatologic community. Clinical (volunteer) faculty from surrounding communities play an active teaching role in lectures and conferences.

Five residents are appointed each year following at least a PGY1 year in medicine, surgery or pediatrics. In addition to clinical duties, residents participate in weekly conferences, journal clubs and other didactic sessions. Opportunities exist for individual residents to pursue avenues of research interest.

Fellowships

Surgery and pediatric fellowships are available for those who would like to sub-specialize after completing dermatology residency.  Additionally, the department offers a postdoctoral research fellowship and a clinical trials research fellowship.

Related Educational Programs

Third or fourth year medical students from OHSU, as well as visitors from other institutions, may spend an elective one to four-week rotation in dermatology or dermatopathology.  Additionally, physician assistant students and residents from other programs may visit the Department of Dermatology for elective rotations.
