Support Services
We recognize that facing cancer treatment, transplant or chronic illness can be a stressful life experience for your child and family. We offer a variety of support and mental health services to help you through this time.
Social work - we have four dedicated social workers in our hematology/oncology/transplant program. Each one serves as a key member of the care team, providing individualized care to your child. Learn more about social services
School teachers - Portland Public Schools provides our program with school teachers who work closely with your child and your child's teacher. They coordinate lesson plans so that your child continues to progress in school. They also help your child to integrate back into the classroom after a long absence.
Child life therapy - Our highly skilled child life specialists work with your child and your child's siblings to cope with the many unique medical interactions, medical procedures and physical changes that often come with a cancer or blood disorder diagnosis. Learn more about child life therapy
