Residents

What is a resident?

A resident provider is a physician who has completed medical school and is in training for pediatrics. They spend three years in our group practice. Some benefits of having a resident as your primary care provider include:

  • You and your child become important parts of helping them become better pediatricians.
  • While their schedules may vary, they are often able to spend longer amounts of time with you and your child.
  • Your care is always supervised by a faculty pediatrician, which in effect means several physicians can help in the care of your child. This can be especially beneficial for difficult or complex treatment decisions.
  • Resident physicians also work throughout Doernbecher hospital, so they often are able to provide care for your child in the Emergency Department, in a specialty clinic, or if your child needs to be admitted to the hospital.
