Service RequirementConsistent with the ASHP residency standards, the OHSU residency experience is primarily a practical, rather than didactic or classroom experience. After completing appropriate training, the resident will staff critical care area(s) to be determined by interest and training (approximately four shifts per month). All residents must be licensed in Oregon within the first three months of the residency program. Visit the Oregon Board of Pharmacy web site for additional details.
The PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy Resident, in cooperation with the Oregon State University College of Pharmacy, will participate in classroom discussions, lectures, and labs during the school's elective Critical Care lecture series. Residents may also precept Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiential students and OHSU PGY1 pharmacy practice residents on clinical rotations throughout the year. Additional opportunities are available to residents seeking additional teaching responsibilities through the Oregon Residency Teaching Certificate Program. The elective teaching certificate program is offered as a joint program by OSU College of Pharmacy and Pacific University School of Pharmacy.
