Volunteering with the OHSU Transgender Health Program
Transgender Health Program volunteers may have opportunities to help in the following areas:
- Community engagement
- Patient support and accompaniment
- Assisting with information and referral
- Workforce education
- Policy development
- Program development
Time commitment
Most of the Transgender Health Program volunteer activities take place during business hours between Monday and Friday, but occasional opportunities do arise during the evening or on the weekends. Transgender Health Program volunteers are expected to participate in meetings that occur the last Friday of the month from 3 to 4:30 P.M., and make a minimum commitment of six months or 72 hours of service. Current OHSU employees and students are exempt from the minimum time commitment.
Enrollment
Volunteers are required to enroll through the OHSU Health Care Volunteer Services department and participate in required onboarding and orientation activities. For more information about OHSU Volunteer requirements, please visit OHSU's Become a Volunteer page.
