What is Baby-Friendly?
The Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) is a global program that was launched by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) to encourage and recognize hospitals and birthing centers that offer an optimal level of care for infant feeding and mother/baby bonding. 

What does that mean for expectant mothers and newborns?
The foundation of the Baby-Friendly initiative is centered on delivering patient-centered care that improves health outcomes for mothers and babies. You can expect:

Breastfeeding Support
Our caring staff will help you get started breastfeeding your baby. Many of our nurses are trained in lactation support and specially trained lactation consultants are available daily to offer assistance and make sure you get things off to a great start. After you go home, lactation consultants are available by appointment to support you on your breastfeeding journey.

Rooming In
To strengthen the parent-child bond, your baby will stay in your room 24-hours a day. You'll have plenty of space in your room for Dad, partner or special guest.

Skin to Skin Contact
You will be encouraged to hold your baby skin-to-skin. Your body is a natural warmer for your baby and early contact can help with breastfeeding. Above all, this is a special bonding time for you and your baby.
