How to Register a Visitor or Volunteer

Effective July 1, 2016 the Research & Academic Volunteer Services (RAVS) program has expanded into a central office for all OHSU mission areas in order to manage the onboarding, recruitment, and retention processes for unescorted visitors, and volunteers in compliance with the visitor policy. Prior to this new Office of Visitors & Volunteers (OVV), there was no central office to ensure the visitor policy was being followed. The policy was created to ensure campus safety and compliance. Our goal is to streamline onboarding processes for unpaid personnel and equip them with the resources needed to be successful at OHSU.

OVV will continue to manage the existing population that was under the oversight of RAVS, and will additionally onboard visiting scholars, non-OHSU student interns and experiential visitors for all four missions of OHSU. OVV does not provide oversight of healthcare Volunteer Services but does work closely in partnership.
