Sample Proposals
Samples of Successful Proposals
One of the best ways to write a successful grant application is to review grant applications that have been successful in the past. RFDS maintains a central library of successful proposal examples that OHSU researchers have kindly agreed to share with others at OHSU to assist with research proposal development. We currently have examples of Medical Research Foundation awards, Collins Medical Trust, National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowships, and many others. Another invaluable resource is the Research Portfolio Online Reporting Tool (RePORT). This should be your first stop if you are wondering whether your project might be fundable at NIH.
*Please note: Currently, we do not have any successful NIH samples with the new, shorter format. We will be updating our library as with successful proposals they be become available. Stay tuned. In the meantime, the National Institute of Allergy & Infectious Disease (NIAID) has excellent resources for investigators who are writing grants. Now they have posted some sample R01s and R21s–useful even for applications to other NIH entities. These copyrighted documents also include the summary statements.
Please contact funding@ohsu.edu to obtain a copy of a successful grant application or to submit a successful grant example of your own.
