Industry Representatives and Engineers
Practical courses for company representatives have been organized since 1995. Their goal is to familiarize the company sales representatives and engineers with indications, applications and results of their products. The two-day courses consist of presentations by the Department's faculty followed by interactive discussions, demonstrations and hands-on training practice with their devices in models.
The Schneider USA Inc. course in 1995 was attended by 42 company representatives. It was oriented on demonstration of technique of TIPS and the use of Wallstents. The Cook Medical courses have been ongoing since 1996. In recent years, usually four to five courses have been organized yearly. Eight to ten sales representatives or engineers participate in each course. These courses are designed to familarize representatives with devices their company manufactures.
The GE-OEC training sessions for their vascular application specialists from the USA and abroad have taken place in the Dotter Research Laboratory since 2002. Usually, one session per year is organized for 6-10 representatives that become familiar with procedures performed with their mobile digital imaging systems. Newly developed mobile C-arm systems are also being tested in the Institute research laboratory.
