Interdisciplinary

Interdisciplinary Research and Education

As a institution of public health, education, and research, OHSU provides unique opportunities for interdisciplinary research collaborations and educational opportunities. OHSU is home to three professional schools, the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, and Dentistry. In the Collaborative Life Sciences Building, OHSU collaborates in biomedical research and education with Oregon State University and Portland State University, forming the College of Pharmacy and School of Public Health, respectively.

Additionally, OHSU is comprised of 68 separate research centers and institutes, including the Vollum Institute for Advanced Biomedical Research, the Oregon Clinical and Translational Research Institute, and the Oregon National Primate Research Center.

Innovation

OHSU's Biomedical Innovation Program

The Biomedical Innovation Program at OHSU helps to accelerate the delivery of healthcare technologies from academia to the marketplace and thereby to improve health care. To reach this goal, the program fosters collaborative translational research that will lead to technology commercialization within a 3-5 year horizon.

The Biomedical Innovation Program cultivates, evaluates, and funds promising translational projects with the objective of moving innovative technologies to clinical application through commercialization. Do you have an idea for a technical innovation to improve patient care?
