Information for Multiscale Microscopy Core (MMC) Users
Microscope access and services are available to internal, external, and commercial users. Training, technical service and specimen preparation services are provided by the MMC staff, and are tailored to the needs of the user to help them achieve their research goals. The MMC instrumentation encompasses the Titan Krios™, the Helios™ Nanolab™ 660, the Tecnai™ with iCorr™, and the Tecnai™ T12 Spirit. Pricing details can be found on our services pricing page.
Specimen preparation services are available for an hourly rate. The services we offer range from consultation to assisting the user in identifying a sample preparation strategy, to partial or full sample processing. Often, specimen preparation, appropriate to the imaging technique being utilized, will be undertaken by the researcher. Because users represent a wide range of disciplines and subspecialties, the MMC typically does not provide full specimen processing, but assists in selection of a protocol and guides the user toward a successful method, and will perform processing and/or embedding steps, as necessary. The determination of an effective specimen preparation method, and an exact protocol is a significant component of most microscopy investigations, and typically are refined by coordinated investigator and MMC staff efforts to optimize the results obtained.

Usage Guidelines
Access
Prospective users must submit a Services - Sample Submission Form to initiate microscope services, scheduling and access. Alternately, prospective users may submit a Training - Project Information Form to schedule a consultation and/or training. The training schedule will depend on the microscope to be used. Users may not operate the microscope independently until they have been approved by MMC staff.
External users are required to submit a P.O. and MMC Core Services User Agreement Form before services can be scheduled.
