Sri is one of the five Agreements Officers in TTBD managing industry sponsored research, material transfer and confidentiality agreements for OHSU. She enjoys the challenges and the variety of cases she gets to handle as an agreements officer. Sri loves being in academic technology transfer because of its purpose to take the best of what science has to offer and facilitating the development of those inventions and technologies so that they can ultimately benefit the public.

Sri worked as a post-doctoral researcher for 5 years at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies in La Jolla, CA where she did research on human embryonic stem cells and cancer biology. She entered the tech transfer field as an intern at the Technology Transfer Office at the University of California, San Diego where she interned for a year. Subsequently, she served a short stint as their Technology Marketing Analyst prior to re-locating to Portland. She is also a registered U.S. Patent Agent.

Sri received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Louisiana State University where she studied mechanisms by which a tumor suppressor regulates gene expression programs.

Ruth has supported many departments throughout her years at OHSU but is currently a Senior Agreement Officer with a primary support to the Knight Cancer Center, Neurology and Cell and Developmental Biology. Ruth helps the research community navigate all aspects of sponsored research, acquiring or sending research materials and forming research collaborations with both academic and industry partners.

Prior to joining OHSU in 2007, Ruth worked as a research biologist with the U.S. Forest Service collecting data about forest health throughout the Western United States. These travels took her to many beautiful places, and to many places infested with poison oak. She now prefers working in the office environment, less poison oak, but does find herself dreaming of high mountain lakes occasionally.    

Ruth graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Oregon focusing on in French Literature and Geological Sciences and with a Bachelor of Science degree from Oregon State with a focus on Environmental Science and on Forest Ecology and Restoration. She has always had a passion for biology, human or otherwise and communication.

Joseph is an Agreements Officer at TTBD, managing industry-sponsored research, research collaboration, material transfer and confidentiality agreements for OHSU.

Joseph has several years of experience in microbiology, molecular diagnostics, intellectual property, and transactional law. Prior to joining OHSU, Joseph served as a molecular diagnostics and infectious disease technical specialist/supervisor for Kaiser Permanente Northwest and as a molecular diagnostics supervisor at Peacehealth Laboratories. 

Joseph received his bachelors of science in microbiology and is currently a juris doctor candidate at Lewis and Clark Law School. In his spare time, he enjoys fly fishing, mountaineering, play poker, cooking, Crossfit, and exploring all the lesser-known corners of Oregon.
