Roles & Responsibilities
Technology Licensing: Knight Cancer Institute
Prior to joining OHSU, Anne was a Post-Doctoral Researcher and an Assistant Research Biologist at UCLA’s Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center. She then switched gears, moved to Portland and worked for twelve and a half years as a patent agent specializing in biotechnology patent law at the law firm Klarquist Sparkman, LLP. Anne has been actively involved with the Oregon Bioscience Association for many years and is one of the founding members of the Programs and Events Committee.
Anne received a Ph.D. in Anatomy and Cell Biology from UCLA, and Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Biology from McGill University (Montreal, Canada). She is also licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as a Registered Patent Agent.
Anne loves to travel, is an avid gardener and a sports enthusiast, and is currently working on improving her golf swing.

Travis is currently a Senior Technology Development Manager in TTBD.
Travis is a cross-functional international business development professional with experience in managing, negotiating, and closing early-, late-, and commercial-stage definitive agreements. He is a co-inventor on 7 patent applications and is a co-author of several peer-reviewed publications, including a case study in the management textbook, Building a Case for Biotechnology. Prior to joining TTBD, Travis was the Director of Business Development at Galena Biopharma, Inc. (Nasdaq: GALE) and has held appointments at OHSU, Kalypsys, Inc., Ansata Therapeutics, Inc., and Mixture Sciences, Inc. He received a M.S. in chemistry from UC San Diego, and a M.B.A. from Willamette University.
Travis is passionate about spending time with his family and recreating in the outdoors where he can be found whitewater kayaking, rock climbing, mountain biking, surfing, and skiing.

Technology Licensing: Orthopedics & Dentistry, Patient Care & Hospital, Hearing, Speech
Michele is currently a Senior Technology Development Manager and has been with TTBD for over 15 years. Michele is a member of the Licensing group and responsible for evaluating new invention disclosures, identifying commercial opportunities, and negotiating license agreements.
Prior to her career in university Technology Transfer, Michele was an Assistant Professor at the University of Connecticut Health Center, a Research Scientist at the Portland Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service, and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology at OHSU. Michele achieved "Certified Licensing Professional" certification from the Licensing Executives Society (LES) in November 2014. She is a member of the Licensing Executives Society, past Chair for the Oregon/SW Washington LES Chapter, Association of University Technology Managers and the Oregon Bioscience Association.
Michele received a Bachelor's degree from Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, NH, a Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut, and was the recipient of a National Research Service Award Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Connecticut Health Center.

Technology Licensing: Informatics/Software, Imaging, Medical Devices
Arvin is a Senior Technology Development Manager and has worked within TTBD for over five years. He is responsible for evaluating, protecting, managing, and licensing software and medical device technologies. Arvin has successfully negotiated license agreements with large medical device companies in the U.S. and abroad, medium-sized software and medical device companies in the U.S., and entrepreneurs in the Portland area.
He possesses over five years of experience in software product development. As a software consultant at Accenture, he analyzed business process problems and helped develop information technology solutions on behalf of Fortune 500 companies in the Electronics and High Tech industry in Seattle and the San Francisco Bay Area. Arvin also founded Songbirder, a real estate software startup company in Portland that folded its operations in 2009.
Arvin earned his Juris Doctor degree from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis and is licensed to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office as a registered Patent Agent. He received his Master's degree in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.

Technology Licensing: Biomaterials, Cardiovascular, Ophthalmology, Public Health, and Pharmacy
In her current role as a Technology Development Manager, Trina is responsible for commercialization and licensing OHSU discoveries to bring them from the lab and into the market for public good.
Prior to joining OHSU, Trina was at the USC Stevens Institute for Innovation at the University of Southern California as a licensing specialist. She also worked in real estate leasing, was an interrogator in the US Army, and managed a scuba shop located next to the number one shore dive in North America. Trina came to TTBD as a Technology Development Coordinator in 2010 where her responsibilities included negotiating contracts which support research at OHSU, including Sponsored Research and Material Transfer Agreements, before being promoted in 2013.
Trina received her Bachelor of Science degrees in Zoology and Biology, with minors in German Language and Computer Information systems at Humboldt State University in Arcata, California. She completed graduate coursework in Marine Science at Moss Landing Marine Labs and also received an Associate of Arts degree in Arabic Language from the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California.
In her spare time, Trina raises Nubian dairy goats, standard rex rabbits, Indian runner ducks, hair sheep, honey bees, Muscovy ducks, and a mixed flock of dual-purpose chickens.
